In traditional Allopathic (MD)/Osteopathic (DO) medicine, all thyroid conditions are treated with only two types of medication; Synthroid/Levothyroxin, which is synthetic T-4 or if you really lucky Cytomel which is synthetic form of T-3.

That is it! So whether you have an Adrenal condition resulting in abnormal thyroid function, a Hypothalamic or Pituitary gland dysfunction, a deficiency of Iodine (Potassium Iodide), or Tyrosine (Amino Acid), selenium, iron, Hydrochloric Acid deficiencies , Heavy metal toxicity resulting in a lack of conversion from T-4 to T-3, auto-immune thyroiditis (Hoshimoto’s Disease), you the patient will NOT be properly diagnosed and treated with the proper protocol. It is vitally important that all the avenues of thyroid dysfunction be identified and addressed! We in Functional/Alternative medicine are now finding out even new research and ideas of how just important the gut (Gastro-intestinal Tract) is in the overall wellbeing of the human body with particular emphasis with the thyroid gland.
